Timer~Two Kings.....

The two kings approached the great hall by two opposite corridors. 

They could not bear to look at one another, so great was their argument. 

For five years now, the war had raged through Britain. No diplomat could bring them together. 

Finally they came to Lindisfarne..... 

In the hall sat the old Monk. All knew him, all loved him.

After the kings had entered the doors where sealed. The three were alone.

For three days the doors where barred. 

Finally Cuthbert said, 

"Do you not see the futility of your actions? Life is short. As the sparrow flies through eternal night, he enters through the window above, travels brieflly through our warmth and light and passes again into eternal darkness."

So are we all. 

The peace lasted for 30 years.
